Restriction on PFAS in firefighting foams: FPP4EU responds to public consultation
On 23 September 2022, FPP4EU responded to the public consultation on the restriction on PFAS in firefighting foams (FFF). It is our understanding that the FFF file may act as a ‘learning file’ for the wider restriction on PFAS and that the basic elements of the hazard assessment would also apply. We base this assumption on statements made by Environment Commissioner Sinkevičius and P. Simpson (ECHA). The comments provided by FPP4EU are therefore directed towards key assumptions made by the ECHA Secretariat in the dossier rather than on the specific provisions on firefighting foams.
